WHAT IS WAXING?
Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will grow back in the waxed area after 3-6 weeks, although some people will start to see slight regrowth in only 1-2 weeks due to some of their hair being on a different growth cycle. Almost any area of the body can be waxed.

WHAT IS BRAZILIAN WAX?
Brazilian waxing generally means complete hair removal around the whole female genital area including the anus and perineum although there is an option to leave a small amount of hair, about 2 or 3 fingers wide above the vaginal area.
DOES WAXING HURT?
Yes, waxing does hurt but most women find it to be very tolerable.
Avoid waxing a week before & after your period as skin is more sensitive. It's best to wax mid cycle, right around the time you're ovulating. It will be easier and less painful if you keep up with regular waxes. Some first time clients do take some pain-killer but this is not very necessary.
Also avoid caffeine and alcohol 24 hours before your waxing service as they are stimulants and they increase your blood flow which makes your skin more sensitive.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOFT AND HARD WAX?
Soft wax is applied in a thin layer, with a waxing spatula or in a roller, and removed using a waxing cloth or muslin strip. Depending on the body part being waxed, traditional soft wax is generally used for areas like legs, arms.
Hard wax is thicker in consistency and applied warm with a waxing spatula. The wax hardens and is removed without the use of a strip. Waxing for an extra sensitive area (such as the vagina for a Brazilian) hard wax is usually the better choice. Hard wax attaches itself only to the hair, not the skin, minimizing discomfort and reducing the possibility of skin irritation and tugging. Hard wax also has the ability to "grab" shorter and coarser hair, almost eliminating the need to wax over the same area twice.
HOW LONG WILL MY WAX LAST?
The growth of hair will depend on the rate of individual hair growth. The average hair-free time would be for at least 1.5 to 2 weeks. It is advisable to wax every 4-6 weeks for visible results.
HOW LONG WILL I STAY RED?
The skin may stay red and tender anywhere from 1 to 24 hours depending on individual skin's sensitivity. The wax which we use further enhance gentleness on the skin. Hence, clients will experience minimal redness and irritation. We strongly recommend our product “Tea Tree Lotion” to speed up the healing process.
HOW TO PREVENT INGROWN HAIR?
Exfoliating gently on a weekly basis will help to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hair. However, please do take note, exfoliation can only take place after 48 hours of your waxing session.
We recommend using our salon ingrown spray to prevent bumps and ingrown hair. Products would be recommended as it less harsh as compared to exfoliating. In order for the product to work effectively, it is recommend to use it daily.
DOES A BRAZILIAN WAX ITCH WHEN THE HAIR GROWS BACK?
Unlike shaving, waxing does not cause itchiness as hair is being removed with the roots thus the regrowth will be much finer at the tip of the hair. Clients with drier skin type will experience slight irritation but it will be reduce with some exfoliating and application of moisturizer.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A BRAZILIAN WAX OVER SHAVING?
The effect of waxing will be more long lasting as compared to shaving. Shaving will cut the hair from the skin surface so it will grow through quicker with the appearance of 'stubble' because it is blunter & also appears darker. Some clients experience hair growth the next day after shaving!!
Waxing removes from the root so it takes few weeks to see regrowth. Waxing doesn't cause razor burn or the risk of cuts in sensitive areas. Long term shaving causes skin damage which might result in uneven skin tone (eg: underarm darkening)
WHAT ARE THE LONG TERM EFFECTS OF A BRAZILIAN WAX?
The major benefits of Brazilian waxing is that the regrowth will be softer and finer.
After a waxing session, results will be seen. Waxing also helps to remove dead skin cells. The only possible side effect would be ingrown hairs but unless you are prone to them they are usually not a problem to most clients.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HARD WAX?
Hard wax removes coarse hair very efficiently. It hardens and stick to the hairs and NOT the skin, making it lesss abrasive to the skin in delicate areas (Less redness, Less swelling & Less breakage of hairs!)
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SOOTHING MASK?
It gives immediate Soothing & Cooling effect on waxed skin. Its antiseptic and antibacterial ingredients helps to prevent breakout, rashes, inflammation and reduces redness, irritation, discomfort etc:itchiness.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A BRAZILIAN WAXING SESSION?
The specialist will ask you to remove underwear, and then lie down. The specialist will guide you on how to place your legs and will start to apply antiseptic lotion to the area.
She will then trim the hair (if necessary) and sprinkle the area with talc to ensure that the skin is dry. Next, she will use a spatula to spread a thin layer of hot wax on one area at a time. Removing the wax by holding the skin taut and pulling in one short sharp pull, against the direction of hair growth. When the top of the pubic area is done, she will move on down to the bottom(labias) then lastly the back(crack).
Once the waxing is complete, the specialist will tweeze any stray hairs and she may trim the remaining landing strip, if you had opt not to remove all. After which, she will cleanse the skin with a calming cleanser and spread soothing lotion over the waxed areas.
The wax is done!! You should be in and out within 30min!!
- No hot bath/ suntanning/ swimming/ deodorants/ abrasions (eg: tight pants) for 12-24hours.
- Apply tea tree lotion after wax as an antiseptic to prevent inflammation/ rashes and on a regular basic to cleanse the pores to prevent ingrowns.
- Gently scrub the area 5-7days after wax to remove dead skin which causes buried hairs/ ingrowns.
